I'm thinking of : taking out my rear seat! Why, because I seldom ( very, very seldom ) have passangers for the rear seats. And I'm fast becoming a devotee to SIC track days too. I'm thinking of using the space left from the rear bench and the rear floor to setup a single 10 inch sub plus a place to put both of my amps ( which is now on top of the spare tyre box ).

I think I may have to go for the custom fibreglass route, but I'm seriously not interested to leave my only car at a shop for a week! I'm thinking of making the box easily removable, mounted via where the previous rear seats's mounting screws are located. Anyone got suggestions?

Here's a sample pic of my idea : http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/5247/subboxsample7mu.png

Fibreglass can be quite heavy lah. Just MDF board cannot meh? AT least if only MDF board, I can try DIY myself with the help of my mechanics.

Ok, about the pics, the one in red is where I would like to put the single 10 inch sub and amps, and the white box inside the red box is where the original rear seat mountings is located at, which I intend to use as the removable box's mounting location.

if u want to do that with only 10" sub, you are wasting the space.
Normally if ppl want to do that way, 15" is the way to go or wall setup.

Wah, I'm not going for a mad ICE setup ( my ICE all by Mohawk one... ). Just want to to a custom carpeted MDF vented sub box + mounting for my 2 amps, and that the box must be mounted using the rear seat's ori mounting holes / screws.

id rather do it on the rear floor and use mdf wood with carpet, simple to make, and make it simple to remove later. 10" sub box behind driver (bass on yo ass) and the 2 amps behind front passenger, depending on size of amp have to make one box for both items, with cooling fans and connectors for all the wires, could figure something out. i wa planning a similar setup for a friend's evo also track day kaki, but with one 12" and 3 amps.

i will just use a sub enclosure and mount all the amp on it..if it allowed...and using some clips/connector to connect the wires there...like tat u can remove u sub and the amp together..so ur car can go race....if mount on the rear seat, u are just adding extra weight when u go for track day...and not convenience if u wan to remove them..

I cannot do it on the floor, confirm not enuff space. have to put the box on where the rear seat used to be. And I cannot put the sub behind me, since it'll clash with my 3 point harness ( unless the box have enuff clearance lah ). So how? U can design the correct vented sub box for me?

Another prob : the rear seat's mounting screw holes are located at the side, and not at bottom. This might be a pain since I intend to use those mounting holes to mount / hold the sub box. And don't ask about those Mohawk stuffs. AT that time I was on a low ICE budget, now slowly saving up for at least a good, powerful 4 channel amp for a SPL setup first.

Something else to add up : if the 10 inch cheapo Mohawk sub's box is small enuff ( yet good enuff to push SPL ), then I would love to have it behind me. But problem in, again, mounting holes lah.

sorry wasnt aware of the 3 pt harness, like this have to take another look lah, drop by KF aman suria whenever youre free ...

Segan la Roslan. My setup all cheapo wan, u know rite...and no, I don't want a shop to do it ( because have to leave the car there for a week, that's a no - no for me.. ). We'll see lah. :)

its ok come over and lepak enuff la, how bout saturday afternoon, advice is free, no charge, hehe...

tomolo? cannot promise lah, tp tgk la how. advice is free, but pay wth TT can rite? :)

u can repay me with watermelon bandung, hehe

ok, see when I'm free Rosen / Roslan. Eh, bring your ride lah next time. I want to see how a single 10 inch sub and single amp can blast good SPL..

err...no more oledi la that system, replaced with alpine F#1 when i sold the car to KF Audio and became their demo car..

oh, issit...the previous setup got mad SPL ke? i'm wondering how a simple setup like that can produces mad SPL.

nothing mad about it la, just 133db only, surpass the 130db requirement for the spl section in IASCA SQ competition in 2003. later on IASCA increase it to 135db, but we're using 15" sub now and our highest is 137db so far. trick for high spl is lot of power and lot of volume.
