When dealing online, always do COD! If cannot, ask a friend to help out (if living on the same state). Too many conmen these days. Even if u make a police report, it will take days or months to close the case. By then, the scammer just register another nick and repeat the same process.

I highly suggest the Admin do something this. Get members who does businesses on this board to register their particulars which includes the following:

1. Full Name
2. Full Address
3. I/C Number
4. Bank Account
5. Contact Number

Also, make a format when posting items for sale ads... just like Lowyat.Net where they require u put [WTB] or [WTS] for subject.

Of course, it has to be compulsory otherwise... might as well shut the For Sale forum all together!

Damn...i was just wondering how this guy could get his stuff so cheap, and how he could actually get the prices sooo low which is WAYYY below dealer price. Market price is like RM1450 for 6850 and he's willing to sell his 6800 for RM600.

Anyway, an advice to all forum members, please avoid too good to be true deals. In the end, instead of being able to save a couple of hundreds, u could end up losing much more and getting nothing out of it:(

Anyway, if wanna deal via post etc, try to deal with traders who have a long track record, reliable trader ratings, good feedback from other forummers etc.

I seconded the decision on registering seller's ID; but we can't have the admin's hand full on just keeping tracks of all those non-existent seller.....

So the best way is still not to deal with this kind of situations. That's why I rather do COD. Even if it's genuine, imagine if there's something wrong with the h/w, wat ur going to do??.............mail it back and wait for the reply....than wait for warranty claim, than wait for the mail back to you.......it's ridiciulos!
