Civic ES K20 conversion

allo guys..

Was looking at a few old mags on the K20 powered ES's that took the MME by a storm... was day dreaming about how cool it would be to have such a machine, as its like a family mans DC5

so, i was toying with the idea of getting a 1.7 and converting it to a K20 6 speeder... (toying only... ) so, i was wondering...

how much would it cost to convert an ES to a K20 6 speeder with brembos and all?? (details of the costing if possible)
anybody in the know or who have done this conversion??
Where's a good place to do this??
Any problems / drawbacks to this conversion??
Would it be a good daily driver AND ocasional track day slut??

Hello there...

a fren of mine did the transplant from ES 1.7 to ES 2.0 K20A at Amoil...
got slight problem jugak.... esp the radiator, hose, etc...

i think probably the major problem arises becoz... the ES 1.7 got different mounting la... hv to do a lot of work... he spent almost RM36,000.00...

well my opinion is... better for u to buy ET1 2.0 K20A3 rather than the ES 1.7... becoz... this car (ET1)... just plug and play with DC5 half cut...

another fren of mine is goin to do the transplant soon... the re-engineering will be done in Honda Plant in Pegoh Melaka - the division that made the MME car a reality...

and further more... they will buy back the ET1 K20A3 engine around RM10,000.00...

n e further details... pls contact : En Azmil at 0192061102... if he doesnt pick the phone... pls sms him lerrr...

thats good info... i did'nt know there was a big difference between the ES 1.7 and the ET1... i thought it was mostly cosmetics... are there issues of Puspakom registration because ur messing around with the mountings..??

how much do they take the ES 1.7 engine??

The ACTUAL Honda Plant can do the conversion from ES 2.0 to the DC5 thing?? Thats great... very reassuring...

so, in total, how much would you need to top-up for such a conversion??

has ur car gone thru the conversion??

true... if i was rich i also want DC5 (like many of u right?), but DC5/EP3 2 doors only, so as 2nd car nice laa... i want a "4 door DC5"...
but in reality i can't afford such a project yet... just berangan-angan and learn up first, then see how...

if im not mistaken.. RM25K for halfcut minus RM10K for the buy back value of the K20A3 engine = RM15K not including workmanship i guess and not including selling back brg2 drpd halfcut DC5 yg tak pakai plus brg2 drpd ET1 yang dah tak pakai... manyak susah mau xplain maaa...

my car very slow bai... no need to convert... plus... where to get xtra money to do... not like all the other CRD otai... they all loaded one... especially si crower tuh..
