Civic 04 tuning

People say the new ltype of civic (yr 04-05) cannot be tuned to be great like its predesesors.

i have a civic 1.7 yr 04....pls advice me on any modification that i can do ...beside sending it for them speedwork packages.

Hondaiz5666: i am driving the same model as u too...i really have to crack my head on how to mod it..coz mugen nor spoon or etc does not have any goodies for this car...haihz..mayb we can share idea together on how to mod it..hahaha..wat modification have u done to ur car?

reduce weight 1st, & port & polish ur intake, engine & bore ur throttle, replace ur stock air filter w/ Apexi air filter, cat back change to FGK's RM01A or Power Getter w/ Apexi ECV(Ekzoz Control Valve). Cheap & Effective..... :)

I heard VAFC cannot control the on/off VTEC timing of ES 1.7 model. Not so sure about VAFC II. 130bhps really not enough to handle today's heavy mod aliens.

i read that in one of the thread in the temple of vtec forum..according to one of the forumner there, the engine indicator icon will light up.so any of u guys have install vafc or vafc II to ur ES 1.7 here, plz speak up..share ur experience with us..ahahahaha..cheers

The 1st thing u all should know, the new civic ES model is a totally different design from EG or EK model. Especially those sensors under the bonnet! I mess up 2 sensors before by modifying some things on the D17A engine few months ago!

Damn, the check engine light on and my engine immediately die off on the road! So, i got to call my Kurnia assistance to tow my car back to the garage and that 2 stupid sensors coz about RM1K.

Talking about VAFC, I have been told by one of my fren, he told me VAFC definitely cannot control the on/off VTEC Timing in Civic ES model. So, to all the ES kakis there, maybe ask for VAFC II or wait for the new firmware from APEXi to gain control on the VTEC.

Basically, 130bhps is enough for normal days used! Sometimes, I can even beat some "Mitsu Wira" or "Mira Kancil Turbo" in mid & high rpm.

Please share some opinion with me if you think I'm wrong. ;)

Bout the 'Check Engine Light',i think only Hondata can fix this.

Any1 tried that before?

hei... i tink jiniel2en advice is gud.....can b d basis for my mod....but i wont go untill bore & polish ,throttle body....not while its new rite......

130 hp enough meh????.....no lah....i need bout 20hp more la...rite dream :D
