Chinese pray for the dead...

if there were things like re-born, then wat is it for pray for the long time deads?

Actually the main purpose is not praying for the dead but to remind us 'bout where we from and our nenek moyang they all.....

Many ppl mis-understand 'bout it.......

praying to the dead although they are reborned is to show our appreciation to them for bringing us into this world. to honour them for who they were and so on. it doesn't mean we're praying to the living soul in another body now. its just a symoblism...

then someone answered....burn for them because to make their new life easier...

so complicated....

if i can find where my previous life buried in grave is..i will burn as much as i can ....so i also good

im not trying to create an issue here but when u burn "things" for them...u sure they will get it? wat prove that they will definitely use or even get wat u burn for them. n if by just burning they will get wat we burn for them? how will they get the things u burn for them n not other ppl burn for someone else? for eg, if u burn for one of my relatives, will the 'things' u burn will go to someone else? they got adddress wat ar? or somehow how those 'things' u burn can safely arrive to them?

n by burning they can get things, tt means the 'place' they r at now must b full of rubbish because ppl tend to burn more rubbish than these "things"..rite?

they use registered mail...ahhaha...no no just joking....:P....its 'cheng meng' rite?i was told by my colleague ler....usually chinese fella when they die they go to hell rite?so to deliver to hell...the item must be burned....like the movie 2002...ehehheheh....but wanna ask....how much will it cost for all those items ar??like if u buy a paper handphone or mercedes?same price as the real one or wat?wats the currency rate for hell money?RM1 can buy how much?

lol..im not getting so worked up. but these customs or wat some of us call superstitious, sometimes just doenst make sense. we chinese hav one kind of a weird thinking about following customs n we just ignore whether its maknig sense or not. sometimes when i asked my grandma or some friends y r we doing all these, they just answer, "dunno, jst follow lor".

n fyi, like today STAR paper front page, the fengshui master n his whole family just killed in a house fire accident. its some king of ironic because i tot fengshui master wor! must b very gd at feng shui n wont get into trouble but in the end it proves not as true as we sometimes think it is. dun misunderstood, i still feel pity for his family. a tragic accident. RIP ;)

Just wondering how its look like downstair. Is it true that this world got GOD and GHOST? This things make me confuse. They burn all the paper house, maid, car is it true that the dead person can receive? If the dead person really received it, then how they going to use it? the house and the car that they burn is too small for a dead person and the paper maid.

wassup bro naka , how come suddenly came up wit dis kind of forum wan . well , kinda interesting though ... hmm , dis sun my parent's will b goin to pray my ancestors ler . but im not going , y ?? because i haven went to pray them since da day i was born ... since i juz started da ball rolling , y not juz continue it da same way . btw , can i consider not good if i din go n giv prayers to my ancestors ?? well , i myself also not very sure about da existence of ghost n god . but , one thing for sure is ... im not 100% a believer in all these things .
