Car Is Jerking

two months ago,i send my wira aero 1.3 (MT) for regular service.they replaced timing belt etc.and then,one of the mech in there(i sent the car to proton service) had took out my spark plug cable put for testing in another car when i asked him he said nothing will happened n he gave back mine.

after two days of driving,my car starts to jerk whenever i change gear,then i took my car back to mech did tuning, no problem.but they said cables got spoilt then,i change the plug cables to betters ones.

even after that i feel the same whenever i change gear n speeding.i changed the air filter to k&n.

but now i feel the same jerking....i feel very sad bcoz i love my car so much till i got no boyfren!!!!! :lol:

(btw,after one yr i bought the car i already changed the extractor n put one mid box but no muffler replacement)

can sifus' help me??

Fren .. remove the K&N .. go for a throttle body service & cleanup .. ;) .. mine now smooth ..

cause, most ppl scared cause car jerks, timing prob, etc etc .. but we always forgot about throttle body ;)

if u want keep using K&N .. u have to frequent run for throttle servicing .. depends on how dusty / dirty areas u drive .. cant trust those k&n .. :) . .bytheway .. issit original K&N wif air mass sensor on it? ;)

Last time my car jerking was due to water in the petrol tank, fuel line and fuel injectors.

Check your fuel filter.. if it's clogged, then it will cause distruption to the fuel feed..and will result in your car jerking also.

yup u can check like initialD said ... macha dont fix the filters that u buy from accessories ;) .. my throttle body dirty cause of that thing larr.. lousy filters .. original K&N have Air Mass sensors on it .. local kedai accessory punya tarak ooo .. ;)

K&N filters have sensors?
I thought K&N produce filter elements only?

you are supposed to reuse you existing MAF (or whatever type of sensor depending on car make)

K&N needs to be oiled and cleaned.
This oil must not be used excessively, and it is common practise to let it drip dry for a few days first b4, installing it.

on hot wire cars, oil from the filter might contaminate the heating element (wire).
try to clean your sensor, see if it works?
if it doesnt, try to replace the sensor and see if there is any difference

fuel pumps are hard to see outside, internal of the pump may give way due to old age and how u belasah ur engine lor, u might be lucky and some times u may not mar vincent :P

hmm true also .. but then me consider belasah my engine very gila also .. sometimes main rev until revcut wan .. cos now wanna brainstorm see what kindda things can effect jerking ma .. if open air con car jerking then quite common laa for old proton cars.. but then this 1 change gear jerking.. that guy's problem is when drive normal around 60 yo 70kmh,, suddenly car kenot accelerate and car jerk... i think is his fuel pump problem rite? like fuel tak sampai liddat only from what he said .. or maybe his injector dirty ah ?

babygreddy; there is alot of caused wan ler sometimes .. so have to troubleshoot it .. but then i guess by just switching ur plug cables should cause this kindda effect gua .. hmm.. ur car no more warranty wan rite? no need bring back to proton service centre wan la . .service outside only cheaper somemore..
lol.. da hood ah .. photoshop wan lerr.. where got money to get cf hood ler.. :P

previously they said that bcoz of spark plug cable then i changed.it was ok for some time but got back jerking.

i used to go to shell station n service bcoz the use helix but on that particular day was raya haji so onli proton service was open,so ni choice to go there.@#$@%^$%$^#

can it be the cause of changing engine oil i.e i have been using shell helix semi syn but other day proton servive used petronas's mach5

engine oil wouldnt cause ur car jerking guaaa.. i guess better troubleshoots 1st. cos if u go those workshops ah .. if they not honest.. they will start telling u everything also spoilt then everything also have to change wan .

air mass sensor is located (u see got ure filter cone + rubber joints to throttle body? located somewhere middle of rubber joint there) see pic below.

its not i mean giving problem, but u have to check for it also, might e causing prob. if this sensor is not working properly, ECU will generate error signal and mechanical failures could occur .. ure problem (car jerking) might be fuel is not injected to cylinder to due command from ECU is not incorrect because air amount is not calculated properly by air mass sensors.

there are many possibilitiesu have to check :
-air intake, fuel pump/regulator, throttle body.

*air intake & throttle body could result Check Engine light on ure odometer.

the Original K&N with sensor already RM400++ itself .. and i dont think they think new ones separate only the filter. but u can gt separately from 1/2 cut shops.

my foreman told not to use these things .. spoil our car oni worr, stock filter oledi smooth wat.

im sorry ..cause mine some minor modification done to valve, throttlebody, head and block itself thats y i disable air mass sensor and my car always have CHECK ENGINE light to due limited RPM cut-off removed. use diesel turbo filer (AS U CAN SEE IN PICTURE).

imagine my 1.3wira able to tapau waja and tailgate putra .. sorry no offense for waja and putra owners

for daily use car.. dont lar go and modify unnecessary things.
