Can police do this

I was stopped by a muthafuckin traffic police near my house. He told me that my exhaust was too loud. And he also said that they had a join force with JPJ and he wanted to bring my car to JPJ. He then took his walkie talkie and entioned my car number to someone.... He told me that if bring to JPJ at least RM600.

Then I told him "settle lah bang".. he said kalau JPJ 600 kalau dengan saya 250. I told him cannot lah... then he asked me how much..i said 50.. he took the money and went off.

My question is, does Police have the rights to bring my car to JPJ. Or do they have rights to saman for loud exhaust.

they can saman u for (incomplete accesorries) but cant take ur car to jpj but they have the right to take ur car back to police station for further investigation.they can say they suspected ur car got drugs or smuggling stuff.normally when they say they want to take ur car to jpj or what they only scare u only.

last time thats one officer ask me for surat for change engine,if not he send the car back to police station.i just answer 'oh,yakah,yakah' then i didn give any sign to bribe him then he change topic then let me go :lol:

I also face the same incident like you... but they ask for RM50.. those all really assholes....

if I'm not mistaken, when they need to call JPJ to toll your car, they need to have a long process to get JPJ. They need to submit your car details and get approval by each dept in Police station, then to JPJ HQ, and JPJ nearest district. JPJ District HOD will approve, then they will send their people there to toll your car from the Police station.

correct me if i'm wrong. what i learn from my other frens was, if they issue you the summons, ask them to write the reason, which part of your car is not complete or modification. get that police man ID No, which Police Station he reports to. Especially the time he summon you. If that fella is off duty, he cannot summon you.

if Im not mistaken,the law says you cant do shit to your car,not even the radio.But its not practiced coz its dosent apply no more,but then again I might be wrong.

dulu my satria also kena saman by police and jpj also same like ur case my satria kena tahan roadblock because of my exhaust muffler and straight piping, but the best thing is at that time my brother girlfriend was driving the car without licene, so then the car was 'bermalam' at balai.. the next day when i wanna to 'ikat jamin' my car the police there said my car should be inspec by jpj officer.. so!in the same day the jpj officer arrived and do the inspection to my car and others car too.. and for your information at that time i received
polis: 1.memandu tanpa lesen(my brother gf)
2.membenarkan org tanpa lesen memandu.
3.mengubah suai kenderaan tanpa kebenaran.

jpj: 1.paip exhaust melintangi tanki minyak kereta.
2.memandu tanpa lesen also for my bro gf.
3.kenderaan rendah melebihi had.(lowered)
4.tinted cermin melebihi had yang dibenarkan.
5.ekzos mengeluarkan bunyi yang kuat.

lastly i need to standart balik my satria and go back to jpj for approval.
