or just buy rb26 if u wan more aftermarket stuffs :POriginally posted by Battousai@Nov 26 2004, 14:23
Differences between 210 and 180:
1. The 210 turbo is bigger (duh)
2. Pistons are tougher
3. Piston rings different
4. Conrods are tougher
5. Oil pan return inlet is bigger
6. Oil cooler uprated
7. Oil jets uprated
8. Sodium filled exhaust valves
9. Crankshaft pulley different
Strengths: Tough engine, easy to get power out of it.
Weaknesses: Little aftermarket support. Have to do your own research and customised power-up parts. Alternatively, pay GT Auto to power it up for you :D
cool.. pistol also need argue.. heheheOriginally posted by chunut@Dec 20 2004, 12:06
haiya.. pasal piston pun mau gaduh ka????
hehehehe
itu piston same size, different material.
conrod also same, different material,
normally parts in BPD are lighter.
stroke also same size - engine cc = bore x stroke.
BPD = 1839cc
BPT = 1839cc
by the rule of thumb, BPT engine are stronger than BPD (up to certain stages)
lots of B8 out there use bigger pistons, cc up to 2.1 - use forged piston (85 or 86mm diameter)
but nobody knows unless u hv a chance to look at it during the rebuilding process.
u want to rojak conrod, get the B6 turbo conrod - bigger and stronger, can withstand higher boost.
no need to change piston/conrod.. u didn't get much power gain.
get the BPD cam shaft, put it in BPT (higher/longer duration cams)
