hehehe

let's talk about this engine

1st of all i wanna know

what is the differences between 210 and 180, i only wanna know about the internals...like cams, valves, pistons all those

can any of the sifus here also state the strengths and weaknesses of this engine...

1 strength i know is the 210 turbine is a damm blardee good turbine, and b8 engines are very tough

Differences between 210 and 180:

1. The 210 turbo is bigger (duh)
2. Pistons are tougher
3. Piston rings different
4. Conrods are tougher
5. Oil pan return inlet is bigger
6. Oil cooler uprated
7. Oil jets uprated
8. Sodium filled exhaust valves
9. Crankshaft pulley different

Strengths: Tough engine, easy to get power out of it.

Weaknesses: Little aftermarket support. Have to do your own research and customised power-up parts. Alternatively, pay GT Auto to power it up for you :D

or just buy rb26 if u wan more aftermarket stuffs :P

hello guys :) just wanted to add to what battousai has written (i'm a fan of the great battousia as well) the 180 has a stock intercooler on the inside, near the battery area. the 210 has a stock intercooler mounted in the front on the right hand side if i'm not mistaken when you're looking at it from the front. do correct me if i'm wrong. peace out :)

correct about the 180 stock intercooler...210 intercooler is actually on the left hand side..and YES front mounted...
the injectors also different

hey peeps :) i was just wondering..... since we are talking about the topic,
would a standard piston, cranks, con rod and so on from a 210 be
able to fit an engine block of a 180?? if it is possible... will there be
any change in power??

bengis,

u can, why u want to do so, might as weel buy 1 engine kosong..power wise there will not change...cox the factor of power increase is ur turbooooo

laserman.....

thanx for the info..... but i'm still curious....

what about durability wise.... will it with stand better to great pressure??
then, what about liter wise, will it be converted to a semi 2 liter???
but then... you sure no increase of power.... cause the pistons from
210 enjins are slightly bigger in radius which will cause a bigger bore,
which will inadvently add slight power to enjin..... if i'm not mistaken :)

not i dont want to get enjin kosong..... banyak kerja nak gi settle
ngan jpj balik lepas tuh...... nombor enjin sure dah lain...... :D

Bengis:

Who told you that? Have you measured? I'm pretty sure they're the same size. Anyway, its not the piston that determines the displacement, but the cylinder bore.

Durability should be better than the 180 standard internals.

But... no increase in power ;)

bengis,

is good to use 210 conrod to oversize the piston to 84 or 85 diameter... cox the 210 conrod can stand higher pressure.. but reliability have to consider..

battousai,

ur cylinder bore basically is based on piston diameter..

haiya.. pasal piston pun mau gaduh ka????
hehehehe

itu piston same size, different material.
conrod also same, different material,
normally parts in BPD are lighter.
stroke also same size - engine cc = bore x stroke.
BPD = 1839cc
BPT = 1839cc

by the rule of thumb, BPT engine are stronger than BPD (up to certain stages)

lots of B8 out there use bigger pistons, cc up to 2.1 - use forged piston (85 or 86mm diameter)
but nobody knows unless u hv a chance to look at it during the rebuilding process.
u want to rojak conrod, get the B6 turbo conrod - bigger and stronger, can withstand higher boost.

no need to change piston/conrod.. u didn't get much power gain.
get the BPD cam shaft, put it in BPT (higher/longer duration cams)

cool.. pistol also need argue.. hehehe

come out test test test.. hehehe...

test test piston or test test pistol?

u r running 6 piston leh!
how to fight?

aiyo.. typo error mah .. piston is can become pistol then you will dam scare of me nextime.

test with me i use my pistol to kill your car hahaha

gaduh??? mana ada..... :) just a friendly conversation :) why wanna fight lor huh... all driving same car... just sharing knowledge :) by the way..... chunut thanx for clarifying things up for me :) really appreciate it :)

hehehehe...... which one is BPD and which one is BPT again :P
jangen maree....
