Hi,

I'm currently using a b16a on a civic sr4. For rm50 worth of fuel (approx. 26 ltr) the car can go up to 320 - 330 km (until the fuel warning light on). Just to make a comparison with other b16a, is this good? in term of fuel consumption.... thx

udengfahlawi,

Did that, but still thats the top that I can get... dont mention of vtec kicks in... much2 lower...

my friend use B16B told he able to reach 400km with rm50 if in normal driving.perhaps vtec open 1 or twice everyday.

udeng,u know him.just converted.

I thought this has been posted before? But anyway with RM50, I can only clock about 300km without vtec. I guess mine is worst than yours. My car also no internal mods.

sounds good,
the FC is just like NA engine with no vtec,
sometime more economical...
mine use sohc w/o vtec,auto,
rm60 can go only 335km,haiyoo...

Mine is the worst, RM 75.00 can go up to 330 KMs only ( almost 80% stop - go traffic, plus plenty of full throttle runs, of course! And also about 15% of highway driving! )

ace...u no worry ler.....petrol pump is a few feet away from wher u normally park your car....free plak tuh....

dont vtec...shift gear below 3000rpm...u can go further than that....

brader...hard to get the best pf both worlds lar....fast car and save fuel....at least not with a B-series engine....it's not "intelligent" ler like the K-series....

I have a B16A that was imported from Kyoto early this year. RM50 worth of fuel gives app. 350-400 km via daily driving. If keep pressing the pedal when the road's clear, then... you don't want to know what kind of mileage I'm getting :_:

DOHC VTEC rules...

B16A drinks fuel like a pig.. now considering that pigs don't drink fuel.. I'd say they're pretty miserly for a 1.6 litre when crusing above 100kmh.

wit a starlet perhaps? hoho.. u guys worry too much on the FC issue, chill ler..

H22A CL1 a bit better, say without vtec not open at all, the max it's RM50 can go is around 340-350km max.

...but most of the time hard to maintain la that figure. (without any vtec).

has anybody ever make any comparison with other makes?...like mivec, vvti....

MY previous 2nd gen mivec ck (mivec terbalik) would last me around RM10=65-70kms.

hehehe. For free petrol have to join the Shell or Mesra Petronas competition la. kkeekekek

This is what I got previously before I change my flywhell to b16b ones and set my tappet (as previously it has knocking sound). That's why I wonder what had happened. The tappet has been set nicely though...
