B16A Double valve spring on both intake n exhaust

Guys,

i heard that we can used double valve spring from B16A (intake) for the exhaust cam side instead of using a complete set of CTR/ITR valve spring. Some are using this setup with CTR/ITR cams. My question is, what are the pros and cons in doing this type of midifcation. How would it be if compare to a combination of CTR/ITR cams with CTR/ITR cams ?

regarding the early portion of your enquiry, yes it can be done BUT you have to stick back to your stock B16A camshafts regardless of OBD0 or OBD1 version. if you plan to do the "malaysia-boleh" with the bigger camshafts like even CTR or ITR, chances your valves might hit the piston during high-revs(especially when u have chipped ecu that does not have cuts). The risk is always there. The design of spring rates and tensions are meant for certain cam specs.

DC2R and EK9 valve springs are the same. So no problems with their own engine camshafts.

ok thanks bro. btw, it's not only 'malaysia boleh' setup, i've read some non-malaysian based honda forums, some of then using this so called 'malaysia boleh' setup...i wonder is there anyone in this forum using this setup...care to comment ?

we might have the same SGDM engine, but mine is a bit diff from urs....seriously...mine is really vtec kecil..same as B16A2....damn!

i think ur vehicle speed sensor (VSS) already kong la... try change a new 1 n just DIY... i think it can cost u around rm 110 (spare part from honda thailand) n the original from japan around rm 150... actually where's location u guys always lepak2....
