Guys,

I'd encounter some problem again on my AYC.
Start engine 3 lights on then drop to 1 light (tarmac). Then after few minutes drive. Suddenly 3 lights up again.

I tried to retrieve previous thread on AYC. Some qouted, might be the fault code error and some say pump problem.

So which is which i do not know. Somehow i find it very dissapointed over the ayc system on E7. Any idea to resolve once a forever ? E7 ayc n E8 ayc is the same ? can e7 use e8 ayc system ? If can please advice and i would like to do that !

Nitemare man !!! Need help here..

That's an ACD problem. The 3 lights (Tarmac/Gravel/Snow) refer to your ACD. AYC has its own diagnostic light, which says AYC.

ACD is the transfer box right after the transmission.

AYC is the rear differential at the back.

I've got no experience with the ACD, since I drive an old EVO so you gotta wait for the guys with the CT9As to come and chime in.

Simplest and easiest way to find out what died is to go to Mitsubishi. Plug in the MUTII and have them diagnose it, then go to your workshop and have them recitfy the problem. If not, it's going to be guesswork, change here , change there, then only solve the problem.

dude, check your front transfer case if there's enough oil... the three lights come on when it doesnt have sufficient oil. if not, check on the relay on the firewall (right hand side of enginebay if ur facing the car & ah loy knows which as i showed him). All these dont work, then you'll have to check on the pump.

Cannonfodder/NotiG,
oil have...and the worst part is whenever start engine or engine run.We should see the oil below
the max level. But somehow mine, still remain at the max level even engine running.
Relay, yeah sure will check it out.
Anyone can answer my previous ques on pasang e8 pump? i assume e7 n e8 pumps are different.
correct me if i'm wrong.
thxs !!!

dude... let the car cool down.... then remove the transfer case oil and refill with new oil... had that problem in keong72's ride... rectified it this way. as for the e7 and e8 ayc pump, they both look the same.. but the saying goes, its different. So beats the hell out of me...

only remove the transfer case oil ?or need to do the normal procedure again ?
release trapped air rear and front then refill ?
em not sure what's wrong. In fact acd goes back to 3 lights after a few minutes. Not even i do any braking or turning. drive at 30-40 (km/h).

Eh just to check with you guys here. I've been using the proton ori gear oil ATPIII(not sure the standard code) for the oil. Can it be use ? or only motul/red line is recommended ?

bro, i think wht i've said is quite clear. what are you talking about here? ATP SPIII for your AYC and I was referring to the "Transfer Case" and not the AYC. Just try doing it and to me, its okay to try this rather then be penny wise and pound foolish.

Cheers!

not bad use proton oil on evo.....later sure end up in workshop

bro, stated there ATP SPIII usage mah. moreover it just a tempo usage for performing eval. on trapped air purpose.:Not_Impressed:

but at least use a ori mitsu oil ler....dont cost that much if u can afford to buy an evo

ori mitsu can't find...so changing back to Motul soon......is the best choice anyway...:mouth_closed:

If you put ATF SPIII, whether Mitsu or Proton, into your transfer case (centre differential) then in all likelihood, it's completely FUBAR.

The transfer case uses GL-5 SAE90 oil, typically Mistu DiaQueen LSD oil, or any other oil that meets both GL5 and the viscosity requirements.

MAKE SURE YOU USE GL-5 OIL IN THE TRANSFER CASE AND REAR DIFFERENTIAL!

ATF SPIII
IS ONLY FOR THE AYC AND AYC PUMPS!

and also GL4 for your 5sp tranny.... just adhere to these advices. you wont go wrong anywhere. I am sure all the fellow bros here had informed you in detail now. Dont be too sceptical on our advices, its purely from learning and also from trial and error base so it wont go wrong.

all rite bigbig bro evoss....
i got it all rite now.It just that its everything new to me here...
anyway thxs for the pieces advice here.

thxs all...

sure man !

GL5 for transfer case n read differential !
ATFSPIII is for the belakang AYC PUMP !
:_:

Will do it this saturday man...

eh GL4 for your 5sp tranny >?:mouth_closed:

Yes, the gearbox uses GL4 spec oil.

So, to reiterate:

Gearbox: GL4, SAE90 or equivalent
Transfer Case (centre diff): GL5, SAE90 or equivalent
Rear Differential: GL5 SAE90 or equivalent
AYC (in rar diff): ATF SPIII
AYC/ACD Pumps: ATF SPIII

Make sure to use the right oil in the right place.

What NoTiGuy is advising is to check and refill your transfer case (centre diff).

Thxs mate...
But transfer case GL5 oil can be makan/finish so easily ? or unless the nut or washer worn out then the oil drip day by day until habiss...?

Again, i will keep up in mind and write it down about the correct oil usage. In fact i'm using the redline GL5 for those T/C n R/D. and proton SPIII for rear AYC n AYC pump.....
