guys, for an astina to be converted to a turbo b8 (180 or 210.....not sure yet..please help me decide)

what is the cost we are looking at?
and how much hassle do we have to go thru?
(mechanical side?jpj side?)

help it much appreciated

the 1st thing is about ur budjet????? 180 cheeper than 210......
180 round 3k - 3.8k N 210 around 4.5k - 5.8k.......
alot 180 spare parts at chop shop,210 less n hard to find........
power???? ofcoz 210 more powerfull than 180........fuel going to rm2 soon!!!!!
both engine same cc diff HP only......no problem with jpj..
engine mounting i dunno coz i'm not drive astina.....:rolleyes:

other sifu's,pls correct me if i'm wrong!!!!!
i'm also new in B8......:D
 
100% no problem, i even went to get it done myself
cost less than 60 bucks since i last went...
 
Yupe def no prob with jpj

As for mounting i gurantee u no problem . fit exactly haha ( trust me i am driving one )

The problem u gonna face is finding the tx3 gearbox and driveshaft if u want to use them . Other source mazda 626 ( i dunno can fit anot in astina but fot the BP turbo engine can lah ) . or Lantis 1.8 also can , no need find B6 2 way hard to get . ( if u want try getting it make sure u know there is two kind in the market --> differen gear ration with different final
drive ) .

Second think imp fuel pump. make sure at least use a 1.8 inj fuel pump ( should be sufficient ) . Fuel tanks is best if u can change to 1.8 injection fuel tank. If u use the old
1.6 carb fuel tank with the 1.8 internal fuel pump ur car will jerk only when fuel very low and
u taking righ turn.

about cost

1.gearbox and driveshaft TX3--) 1400 - 1800 ( depend how u bargain where u get it , cheaper in Malacca and Johor compare to KL )

2. half cut -- yah 3200 - 3600

3. tranplant job 1300 - 1600

4. JPJ i paid RM 400 - 600 ( without insurance )

5 insurance for 1.8 i think is 338

6. fuel pump and tank 150

7. dun forget ur timing belt, gear oil, engine oil, oil filter, etc -- > 300 - 400

that wat i remember , enlighten me if anything i misses out .

hm...so the b8 180 or 210 wil ldrop directly into an astina w/o needing to add any mounts etc....thats good news...

but now im torn apart weather to get a readily transplanted astina or buy a gd condition astina and do the conversion myself.

and also torn between tx3 (2door) or an astina.

any additionnal info on this two cars to help me make up my mind?
(e.g. chasis reliability, handling capibility? spare parts)

no problem swap astina tu B8.first go and fine the gear box than the Hcut b8
.jpj no problem,mouning ok,but the budjet aroung 9k-11k for 210.mine astina already convert tu bpd....best luck 2 u...

just remind u......better find tx3 gb first before transplant....
if u can get this gb in 2days,i'll salute u......:D
if u go for astina,find the gb first..
if u go for tx3,anytime can convert.....

more easyer to find 626 gearbox...ratio also gud enough..626 gbox without dshaft i can get around 0.7k..complete 0.9k...tx3,lantis and lynx1.8 rm1.8k. some time can shoot to 2.2k......best luch 2 u

i bought mine for 1400 6 months back. now tx3 gear box shoot up like mad . good luck in searching . Malacca is cheap , try
finding it in Muar and Tangkak ( my home town ) much more cheaper than in Malacca. Always kampung area ppl sell cheap cheap mah .
 
can my ford laser 93 model 1.6 convert to latest ford lynx 1.6 2000 fuel injection model???
coz now fc quite high :(

u wil probably need to change/modify mounting, cox the mounting is diffrent due to different chasis..

haih~ nowady petrol price increase... my ford fc quite high RM50 not reach 300km
n still using carb.
who 1 buy my car... excellent quality~
