wat kind amp suitable for DVC sub? can 2 channel amp or monoblock release the full potential of DVC sub? i'm using Kicker CompVR 12. thanks

It depends on what ohm is your DVC sub..

If it is DVC 4ohm (aka 4+4) then a 2 channel would do..
if it is DVC 2ohm (aka 2+2) then a monoblock..

You can use a monoblock for DVC 4ohm but you would not use the amps potential..

my sub can be wire to dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm. izzit the lower ohm produce better performance? as u said, 2+2 mean 4 ohm for monoblock?

usually it is 2+2 or 4+4. Not both.. it is the coil configuration in the sub. So if you can load it into 2+2 and a monoblock, thats more powerful, depending on your amp. Because if you wire in 2+2 into a monoblock that can handle 1ohm wrms power.. then you will maximise the use of the monoblock, ie use all the amps rms power... :)

2nd hand mtx 251D, will it underpower? 2 channel amp still no target, maybe lanzar herritage 234 2 channel amp

whats the specs on that amp? and whats the sub specs too?

your kicker compvr12 i believe is dvc 4 ohm and 400w rms only, so u need to find an amp that can give u at least 400w at 2ohm bridged, when u wire your subs in parallel it will give u 2ohm.

the mtx 251d only gives 200w at 2ohm, the lanzar amp unfortunately cannot go to 2ohm in bridged mono mode, just 4ohm only.

i'm currently using a 4ohm 75x4 channel amp, bridged 3&4 channel to powered my 2ohm DVC 300WRMS sub... is this setting ok?

if your sub is really 2ohm dvc (2ohm+2ohm) then wiring it in series to 4ohm will be ok for the amp in bridged mono mode...

oh.... ic..... then roughly how many wrms mono amp that enough power up my 300wrms sub?

a mono amp that can give u at least 300W rms at 2ohm...

how about lanzar vibre 235? bridgeable at 2ohm 850w x 1. should be enough ?

kenot la, thats a 4ch amp, and its max rating is 2x800W at 4ohm.

what u need is something like alpine mrp-m450, gives 400W @ 2ohm

yes, but make sure impedance is correct (ohm)...

if the sub is dvc 4 ohm, u will need a 2ohm stable amp. most monoblocks can go to 2 ohm, but not 2ch or 4ch amps.

if the sub is dvc 2 ohm, u can wire it to 4ohm or 1 ohm. if the sub rms is 500w, u can either get a mono sub that gives 500W at 1ohm, or a 2ch amp that gives 500W at 4ohm bridged mono. a mono amp at 4ohm usually gives small power only, so only ppl who want to go lower than 4ohm will get monoblocks.

Bro...Zen...a quick question...

Say for a DVC 2 ohm sub.... if comparing both ; wire at 1 ohm 500 watts( Monoblock) & Wire at 4 ohm 500 watts ( 2 channel amp)....which will perform better, since both is producing the same amount of watts....

Thanks bro

theorically both will perform jus the same based on the power fed to the subs... but commonly when you wire it to lower ohm value the THD will be higher and damping factor goes lower, so (it depends on whether you can hear the THD and damping factor difference or not) SQ wise will go down a little bit... some are auditable though...

thts why you see some new high end amps comes with chips for specific wiring method...

hope this helps...

depends on amp quality, and sub quality, but i still prefer 2ch bridged 4ohm especially for SQ

wat if i can't find the suitable monoblock at the moment, can i bridge my amp into 8ohm mono mode? 2ohm or 8ohm more danger when 2 channel amp bridge into mono mode?
