Alpine Type-R 6.5" front comps decent?

Any thoughts on the Alpine Type-R 6.5" front comps? Was quoted RM950 for them...

i think little too expensive...
i've seen in shop for the Alpine Type X, SPX-177R for around RM1.2 or 1.3k...can't remember clearly

i can get the type X (SPX177A) for just 1.1K

177A is much better than 176A (Type R)
stress ur budget a bit n u wont regret it..

btw,the type X is very tempting...

177a no longer in production but some ice shop still has old stock.
the new model now is 177x if not mistaken. looks damn nice but havent test yet. was thinkin to switch my 177a to the rear and get the 177x for the front....
anyone know the RRP for 177x??

yup..the 177a is no more in production..
so it's kinda rare species nowadays..
tried out 177r ... it still lose a bit on mid bass kick to the old 177a ..other than tat...the performance is almost same

lack of mid bass can be offset by a pair of Type R 12" subs...hehehe

u guys know that ebay USA offers good price for Alpine stuffs even after conversion. and they do deliver to malaysia. but prob is...how long?? and will it ever reach us? unless we r using fedex or dhl, its not guarantee!!! haiya...how come US can get so cheap....

177R about 1.3K odd. You want ka? I fell in love with the 177A, but that time no budget so gotta settle with Type R. Now got budget no more oredi...

was thinkin to get this for rear stage...but changed my mind coz i want more on the front stage rather than surround. so opt for lower range of r series...172b...hehehe
think goin to dump that when have the dough for another comp set..

- 2 Alpine SWR-1221D Type R subwoofers
- Soundstream Rub-Angina 200w class-D monoblock
- AudioControl matrix (*six channel pre-amp line driver *24dB of signal gain *13 volts peak output *12dB signal attenuation)

And also a custom boot job for Waja with all the stuff loaded inside the boot, oh ya, modified A-pillars with the tweeters inside as well.
