Against B18C type R ( EK9 )

Scheduled for a friendly match against the ek9 b18c type R
, not sure of any other mod from that car.

If said its just stock and standard b18c type R in an Ek9 against mazda 180 bpt ( in an astina 323 ) , with racing clutch , tx3 orginal gearbox, straigth piping 2.5 inches , open port, stock intercooler and turbine , boost 0.8 , DO i stand any chance of getting close ?

Huh , give your opinion .

btw how type R works . I hear their V tec kick in twice. at low end about 3000 and another time at high rev. Wat is their power band , Its it more than they GTX .

if it is stock b18c type R should not have problem to play in 400m.. provided you must have a good launch...from our past experience we manage to beat them by 1/2car to 1 car ..also the other way if the launching ot good..

btw what body is your car...maybe u can ask us to jon the freindly match...for supporting mah...good luck my fren...everything come to drag alots of factor will be involve, engine, gearbox, driver skills..etc...

driving skill i dun think i have much . Lauching with the tx3 gear box always over rev and waisted the torque as wheel spin, if lsd the lauching will be diff. The engine is in an astina 323. Another question that i not sure which kind of driiving will produce a good luch . A mild wheel spin at start on the first gear or just dun need to wheel spin. just step the accelarator and get wheel spin on 2nd gear. Because to get a mild wheel spin at 1stgear quite hard, sometime over spin sometime u rev too low u get the jerking sensation . It is better to tune at higher rpm said 1100 for your idle before drag.

there u go...the sifu has spoken. sorry not redtx3 but laserman anyway, both of them also the same person actually.
should not have any wheel spin at all. I've seen tkk & laserman in action with 1bar no wheel spin at any gears, the car melompat. very good launching skills. respect!
myself not a good launcher, seomtimes gear 1 spin a bit, sometimes gear 1 no spin but gear 2 spin a bit.
tyres also plays a major role.

rules of thumbs, do not have any wheel spin is the best, mild spin will cause u to loose time, your engine is astina 323 engine or bpt / bpd???? please tell more...only i can help you to launch on what rpm... if bpt try to launch at 3.5k to 4k rpm...good luck my fren...
to tell you the truth ...if you cant launch well the vtec have the extra edge...

hey dude....good luck. i played with b18 (integra don know what alphabet) , with rechipped ecu before. my engine stock boosting at 0.5 bar. honda no fight from 1 - 4 gears. top end at about 140 kph then only that fellow mari balik.

you sure tapau, unless..................he got secret weapon !!!!!

honda 170/180 bhp @ 7600 RPM / Redline 8200. yours is a b8 180. power wise should be the same.but your car is turbo'ed the torque is a whole diff story. just practice launching. try not to kanchong wheelspin all the way. what tyres are you on by the way?
 
hi guyz ! my is laser lynx tx3 b8 180. i try to launching at 3500rpm before, not bad just a litter spin on 1 gear, 2 gear go all the way no prod. you can try and see, may be can help. all the best to you !

bpt in an astina 323. OK if u lauch at 3.5k on 1st gear . Later when u shift to second, usually do u full throttle. I usually full throotle too kan chung then sure on second gear wheel spin. It is good this way or try to control the throttle so no wheel spin on second gear. The second gear wheel spin for me i think doesnt affect me like the first gear wheel spin. The prob i always face is wheel spin on the first gear . stock boost 1st gear 0.5 , 2nd gear i think 0.5, then 3 rd 4th 5th vary can go higher, I remember 5th can almost reach 0.9bar. No any special mod, just 2.5 straight piping with HKS hiper. Got adjustable fuel regulator but i think of no use in this case because no SAFC also. Then i off the blow off ( Sard ) i think better response using the original blow in recurculating valve. Duno wat elso to make it more power

Maybe remove spare tear , stupid woofer and my 2 ton hydraulic jack and a big box of tools in the booth and put quater tank minyak . KAN CHung man, going against b18c type r . in EK9 . I think LSD definitely .Although is friendly , if lose also dun lose much or else malu man, turbo somemore.

Any advice ? which are my strong point in a turbo and my weak point. How high should i rev for 1st gear to change to second. I know bpt low end torque is 3000 and max is at 5500. so if i rev at any gear does it mean i must always fall at 5000 -5500 rpm in order to utilise the full torque ( except the first lah )

yes u always need to control your trottle for the low gears... for stock you just pull till 6.5K rpm than shift...that will good enough for you...your advantage is 3rd gear if you cannot come back on 3rd gear ..thats is..good luck my fren...

long time you disssapear from this forum ..where have you been??
 
last few days keep trying to lauch . Rev till 6+ K . Car now idling got problem . can go as low as 250rpm . then suddenly die. duno whats wrong. I heard a weird sound when accelerating, it is like an sharp sound going ascending , something like an aeroplane. duno wat went wrong. found that the connection from the turbine and the pipe from air filter lose. damm got to get the car for servicing.

Any of u guys experience the problem , please kinda give me an idea .

Thank man laserman it was better to rev at 3500 to 4. I prefer 4. no need step too much an accelerator, as i release the clutch it drops to bout 3k , then at that point all boils down to your right foot to control the proper amount of torque.
BUt now got to solve the engine prob.
