Hi there Gurus'

I needs some info about rev limiters, I know all cars have their built in rev limiters. But I would like to enquire about the after market ones. For example the Friestar which is usually used as a launch control gadget thats is also used as a rev limiter. there is also Bee- r for the drifters.

Aftermarket rev limiters bring down the rev limit for cars according to the users preference for example the typical cars rev cut is at 8k rpm but a user might want to bring it down to 7k rpm.

Does this actually preserve the engine and increase the live span of the engine ? As fas as i know most rev aftermarket rev limiters and some stock rev limiters have loud popping noises. Does bringing down the rev limit with this after market rev limiter actually preserve and increase the life span of an engine ? Please advise.

No need to remove the militer if your engine is standard.Power and torque already dropped at high rev, normally before the rev limiter.

hi there, Yes thats ture and i agree with you,, but will fitting a after market in addition to the stock rev limiter to bring down the rev limit actuall increase lifespan and preserive the engine ?

For your case, the best rev limiter is your right foot.

Then you can spend that few hundred ringgit which you've set aside for a rev limiter on booze or a nice holiday with your girlfren/wife
