Hi there Gurus'
I needs some info about rev limiters, I know all cars have their built in rev limiters. But I would like to enquire about the after market ones. For example the Friestar which is usually used as a launch control gadget thats is also used as a rev limiter. there is also Bee- r for the drifters.
Aftermarket rev limiters bring down the rev limit for cars according to the users preference for example the typical cars rev cut is at 8k rpm but a user might want to bring it down to 7k rpm.
Does this actually preserve the engine and increase the live span of the engine ? As fas as i know most rev aftermarket rev limiters and some stock rev limiters have loud popping noises. Does bringing down the rev limit with this after market rev limiter actually preserve and increase the life span of an engine ? Please advise.
