AE101 macpherson disc brake

hello guys...

this afternoon i went to try my car...
while pick up my car can hardly be control.. it went left side instead of straight..
wht could cause this problem? I just done the wheel alignment b4 i go to lap.
i notice tht my car senget one side... driver side lower! very obvious.

about the brake... i accelerate til 140km/h then slow down til stop.. wasn't hard braking tough. try it out continuosly for 4 times. each time the braking performance dropped... when back to home. i've let my car idle for few minutes, came down and smell a strong burning smell.. i checked the engine bay.. wasn't from there. check tyre.. not tht hot. when come to disc brakes.. i saw the colour of the disc become a bit purple colour.. and can feel the heat from 2-3inches away from it. :blink:

i went out again to buy things and when back to home ... no more purple colour..

this is because of the machperson disc too small or because of the single pot caliper? i never experience such problem with the super strut twwin pot and bigger disc.

anyone got a value brake kit to upgrade for macpherson strut?

i forgot to add... i'm using the TOYOTA brake pad bought from UMW.

really strange...i have never come across this case before nor hear about it.i guess you shud go back to your mech and ask him what else did he put when installing your brake pads...

but why it still makan at the first few times...
normal driving is fine... i'm using the old pump from svt which is for the super strut. i didn't change it since they are the same size.

happen to me b4 liauu laa ... but only happens after hard braking like taugeh style driving or left foot braking laa .. colour of rotor turned abit purple ... i think thats the sign of the rotor overheating laaa .. hehehehee ... but normal driving dont see that happen to me ...
i dunno what brake pads i using oso laaa .. white colour one ... from halfcut one laa coz no $$$ to buy nice and new pads .. hehehehe ...

Car senget one side most likely due to unproper installation of the coil spring and the top sitting plate. An old age spring which has its spring constant deviates from its original value might give u this problem also...

it has been senget for a long time liao...

i found tht problem while using super strut.. i tot it's bcoz my super strut old liao giving me this problem...
change to macpherson... still the same.
i just lowered the car yesterday.. also same...

the gap between the door with the side body from big down to tight even touched together.. :(

do some brake bleeding again... and check the brake piston.... maybe jammed!

could it be after lowered... not enough air gets into the disc?? :lol:

just open and overhaul the caliper and try again ... either that or the brake pad sucks coz the caliper able to push the pad to stop the disc but coz the brake pad not enough friction to stop it.. it just creates heat which overheats the rotor as well

forgot to add ... after getting purple rotors all the time ... i changed my rotors ... then changed pads oso .. now hardly ever go purple laa ... only hard driving only go abit purple ... hehheheehee ... :P

ermm... been thinking, if send my super strut brake system to KL mod to fit machperson... how much will tht cost? :unsure:
