try it, but to much understeer,
now i use trail braking technique. work for me.:_:
but this morning almost had a spin outm really scare to used this tech.

anybody had a good opinion???

http://turnfast.com/tech_driving/driving.shtml <--try browsin the site..and then try to understand it..do keep ur loved ones in ur mind..bro...bcareful while drivin...peace..

If you're still understeering, then you need to enter the corner slower.
Also check your tyre pressures and alignment. Usually the basic cause of a poor handling car.

i drives FF cars all times, and i always practice taking the outer line when entering every corner and the inner line as i exit.

i can say its kind of easy to maintain reasonable speed without slowing down much. other advantages is that you can easily avoid oncoming vehicles cutting in your path when they exit as you are on the outer line.

other than that, it does improves my driving skills and letting me know my car's limit as my own capabilities without pushing out of limit.

theories are good to know, but nothing beats experience.

btw, i believe the technique wont work that good with FR cars..

avoid entering at a high speed, slow down....a smoother corner will ensure a nicer line, don't full throttle all the way, understeer might occur, determine ur apex point to floor out

A good technique to employ would be LFB. Useing your left foot to balance the car on your brakes. But it doesn't reduce understeer. It induces oversteer. So you'll still have to watch your speed. LFB does let you take the corner faster though.

Trail braking is good to use, but has a tendancy to unsettle the car if you're not doing it right.

hmm heel n toe if not familiar sure accident de
kekekekee
so better don try kakakakka
think of ur luv ones

Go and learn on the tracks.

Basically, you cannot corner over the limits of your tyre's traction.

Let's say your front tyres have enough traction to turn the car thru corner "X" at 80km/h.

1. You enter the corner normally at 110 = understeer.
2. You trailbrake entering the corner at 110 = understeer
3. You left foot brake thru the corner at 110 = understeer

its vital to know one's tyre limits.. especially those almost botak.

I don't understand this, because basicly, heel and toe has nothing to do with any dangerous driving style, but LFB will be quite problematic if you don't know how to control your left foot

it's not about heel and toe is dangerous driving style...
it's about if you are not familiar with it and not doing it right, you will become kelam kabut and step on the wrong pedal which in the end lost control of ur car :)

how u guys heel and toe??..ive tried but my leg too small la and my ankle cannot twist that much...hahaha!!..give some tips si fus!

first identify your driving preference... for me i like mild understeer...
so setup the car in accordance to what your like... camber, toe, alignment, tyre pressure, chassis setup (suspension, ARB's, etc) and even weight distribution... like a friend of mine liked it better when he put his spare tyre back into the car a track day we attended...

basics for me is....

brake b4 corner, floor during corner to get good exit speed...
if understeer too much during corner, apply some left foot braking to induce a little oversteer... (usually at sweeping corners like turn 5 and 6 at SIC)
if oversteer too much, counter steer and apply a bit more throttle and get ready to catch it back...
thats why i don't like oversteer... (not a drifter) hehehe... mild understeer is much easier to deal with, most of the time just ignore it with just very minor additional steering input..

heel and toe...?? not pro enough yet... kelam kabut... heheheh....

hi all..
what is "trail braking"?
any sifu can teach me?

btw my car is FR
but still can feel understeer leh....
and when enter and inside the corner
feel like front tyre no grip only..

thanx for your guys info, very helpful
this night had try Lfb, still new to me, almost lost control.
i need to practice more.
FYI im driving kancil 660, ff for sure. sligtly tune up. non-turbo.
using 165/13/60 tyre. i practice in dead end road. nobody using that road.
i enter the corner usually at 100km/h and exit at around 95km/h.
maybe need to aware about weight shifting of my car more.

i like when it over steer, mild one lah; easy to coop back.
you guys all pro driver eh, me just palying aruond with my car.
not to serious about racing. just want to improve my driving technique
