Hey everyone, i'm driving a standard 1.6 wira 4g92, n thought of changing the engine into 4g92 DOHC version.

I would like to know how much is it to get this engine?

Also, I would like to know if change into dohc version, do i need to change the ecu? If need to change, how much is it?

Hi bro,

the price varies between rm7k-10k...this is for the halfcut which comes complete with wiring, body parts,dashboard,ecu,brakes,gearbox...complete...so you dont need to worry.Just need to replace wear and tear parts and installation might be another 1k+++.....your car is good to go.

If you want performance you might as well get the performance parts installed while the transplant to save on labour and the hassle of opening your engine so many times.Ask the mech to also port and polish the head. This is if you have funds and want performance.

If don't want halfcut n just buy the engine only can ar?

Owhh,

if halfcut only i think its gonna be tough, you need ECU + Wiring + engine kosong.

thought of doing dat also... is it cheaper?

what do u mean MMC version?

There is 2 types of 4g93p ... One is using the Mitsubishi ECU(models before 2001,if im not wrong) and after 2001 is 4g93p with Siemens ECU.(sifus please correct me if i got my years wrongly.)

Mitsubishi Ecu is much better compared to the siemens one...the wiring is also different.

So for your car,you can get the 4g93 head + its wiring + ecu to compensate for the power youre looking for.this is a cheaper alternative instead of mivec.

i got a friend who uses a GSR head , uses back the same wiring , ecu same , ACP , extractor , piping and piggyback 120+ whp ... dun play2

cost around 2-3k shld be enough without piggyback

bro,

if use back same ecu + wiring must do alot of modification? or just plug and play?

sohc ecu can use back for dohc?

4g93 head+wiring+ecu = 2-3k like lizard said.

just need 2 change the distributor ... hmmm maybe some other sifu here can help

and yeah ecu and wiring use back the same , throw in a piggyback (emanage) to control your a/f shld be good enough provided your tuner's kung fu is powderful ... i also shocked alrdy when he hit 120+ whp ...

1.6 SOHC and 1.8 DOHC ECU is different, injector size is different therefore few mapping also different....

If you wanna go better complete one set ECU, Injector, Head, Wiring all in.

Btw what year is your 1.6 SOHC ? Auto or Manual ?

owh... very old dy 1993 or 4 not so sure, lemme check... auto (sad)

hehehe... i think the idea of changing head 4g93 + wiring + ECU = good already...
last time i'm using 4g92 twin cam + eterna 1.8 ECU & wiring + V6 t/body....
feel good already....

owh... very old dy 1993 or 4 not so sure, lemme check... auto (sad)

Auto wiring different from manual....got 2 ecu....if you put 1.8 gti wiring wont work....unless convert to manual....

most cost efficient.....buy twin cam head 4G91-3, timing belt tensioner brackets, timing kit ( odd size belt not 4g92 SOHC or 4g93 DOHC ) hydraulic tensioner...4g91 distributor

Cost: RM 1k plus to 2k depending on parts new or used

ecu and wiring use back ori......

engine very easy to start but perfromance and smoothness not as good as full wiring and ecu conversion

cheers:biggrin:

i think wit dat money can put high cam rite...

or maybe 4 throttle...

i think use back sohc head den change 93 block wif rebore. tis make torque higher oso save money.if same cc, sohc n dohc no much diff in torque, dohc only more smooth air flow in high RPM

Bump: convert to manual, use GSR locked manual gearbox. u car can tapau sohc vtec 1.6 manual
