Hey guys! I have just purchased an AE101 SEG with a 4 AGZE motor already installed. :proud:
The car runs very smoothly but something strange happened yesterday: When I rev up to about 5k before changing, going up to about 150km/h, the ENGINE MANAGEMENT LIGHT comes on and stays on. The car still runs fine while this on. If I switch off and start again, then the light goes off (like normal)...Any info or advice PLEASE!.

I am also trying to find a GOOD TOYOTA SPECIALIST mechanic... prefer someone who knows the 4AGZE. Please recommend...I am in the K.L. vicinity.

Thanks in advance

got pics of the light ah?
got ah engine mgmt light? is it check engine light?

and dis happens only when u r revving high jer kan? sounds like fueling isnt enough, is the fuel pump new?

Thanks for reponse guys!

Yes, it is the "engine check" light...

Not sure if the pump is new...will check with previous owner..thx

Should I change to a different pump, maybe walbro???

Can a malfunctioning "map sensor" also cause this?

Thx

any mulfunction shud give out alert via the CEL sir, please do a diagnostic test and report back. if u have a fuel pressure gauge, then its easier to point out if its the pump, do u have any?

i'm use 4agze to, i think it not problem from fuel pump.. it problem from speed sensor.. just do diagnostic test..

Guys, thanks for the info.

I think the way foward is to do a diagnostic test BUT, I am new in K.L....still trying to find a GOOD RELIABLE mechanic, prefer one that knows 4agze or Toyota at the least.

Please advise as to where I can have a test done...need to do it soon....this thing is really "bugging me" :banghead:

Contact numbers might also help if possible.

THANKS AGAIN!

Contact Kecik (Kg Pandan) @ 012-9457188 / 016-3248250. He can handle almost all GZE problem.

Since you already have the check light, it mean your ecu already store the error codes. Try retrieve the codes and you will know which problem was detected.

Thanks.

Strange thing: I have been to Kecik this week for drive shaft installlation...so I guess He is "highly recommended" yeah???

Spoke to him and will drop by on Monday.

I will not be doing any serious mods as this is my everyday ride, (with the wife next to me quite often!), would anyone recommend using "E-Manage"? Is this a reliable/stable piggyback?

:driver:

Any feedback on E Manage for 4agze?? or ???

THX.

How did you carried out the test?

feedback on e-manage: your 4AGZE will no longer friendly
My friend has got about 30whp increase...

if youre relying on a reputable workshop, i suggest
DAZ Garage in PJS1.

is urs a electronic or mechanical one? if u do find a mechanical one do let me know as i am interested to get it too..

Levin818:
Hi, I took the car to Kechik (not sure on the spelling of his name).

He did a manual test to get the code...checked the code to confirm that it IS the speed sensor.

 Do you like "E manage" or not???

I do understand that it is not the best, but all I want to achieve is BEST possible PERFORMANCE for my set-up...extra hp will not hurt:biggrin:

Is this a reliable/stable management system?

Danz Eterna:
Thanks for the info. Do you take your car to these guys?

Contact details perhaps??

Scoupe:

Good question...need to check...do you know how to check if mechanical or electronic?

Thanks Guys

Ops.. Kechik is his correct name.
DAZ Garage is good too. If your location is near to PJS1 then they are one of your best option.

I ever sat on a 4AGZE AE101 with E-manage once. I would say it can out run any 20V Blacktop or even B16B engine! But as what my friend complained, he need to re-tune the emanage that cost him RM200+, every time he unplug the stock ECU, or changing the car battery. This issue you got to ask the opinion from the e-manage seller or the tuner.
