i heard some ppl mention about 20v silvertop got 2 version.... jz like cyclone and eci multi for mitsubishi..... how we can knw which type is newer version and which older version ?? :rolleyes:

2 version.?? u mean Silvertop w/ 6 speed tranny & 5 speed tranny.....??

1991-1994 4A-GE Twin Cam 20 (popularly known as 20V Silvertop) did come in two versions. Most notably they were equipped for AE101 Corolla Levin GT-APEX, Sprinter Trueno GT-APEX, Corolla FX20 GT and some Marino either in 5M/T or 4A/T gearboxes. 6 Speed only came later with AE111 models.

The first version of Silvertop is from 1991 to 1993
The second version in 1994.

Some minor differences between these two:
1st Gen:
C52 Manual Transmission
Dual-Lever Four Throttles (Manual Models)
Slightly restrictive Cylinder Head Construction

2nd Gen:
C56 Manual Transmission
Single-Lever Four Throttles
Much improved Cylinder Head Construction (almost similiar to Blacktop models)

very very big difference - so much until don't know what to say - this you really need to check from the internet.

also silvertop ECU have 11 revisions and the hardware changes follows the time / date line shown below.
