hey sifus.
just wanted all your guys views.
I am planning to swap in a 3sge-gen 4 (Beams) into my ke70.
what you guys think bout it?
and from what i heard its impossible to endorse a 3sge into a ke70 rite?
initially i was planning a 4age blacktop as i am planning to keep it NA.
but a friend of mine from Australia suggested to go for a 3sge cause evn the stock is power is equivalent to a modded 4age 20v blacktop.
I am intending to use as my 2nd car and no plans of drifting it yet.
so drop me your views and hope you guys can help me.
thx.. =)

u mean 3sge from altezza or celica? celica is 3sgte rite?
y not just go for ae86 engine?

if weekend car no need to get endorse lah......

then go on install the best engine u can get...

(or if still want to endorse maybe u can try ask some "runner" are they willing to do it for u)

bt is it hard to get endorsed if 3sge into ke70?
and what do u guys think if i use a 7age block and a blacktop head??
good power??
and lastly anyone using altezza here? wanna noe bout the maintenance and parts availability..

Altezza engine is durable and reliable and parts still can get easily, and not that expensive.Cant go wrong with toyota...

Thx cuscostrutbrace. Thx for the advice.

hey guys Y'day i gt a call from a friend of mine frm aus.
he's a racer and also has a garage there.
according to him swapping a F20C into a ke70 is a good swap.
reliable power and its not a very hard swap too. In aus this is actually a common swap.
what is your guys opinion?
And if i am not mistaken the engine cant be endorsed and it be illegal to drive it on road rite?

if u think about endorsement....same story with 3sgte engine here....both 2.0/2.2liter exceed our 30% regulation.....

since ke70 can be swapped with 4age....those already equipped 4age levin use f20c as replacement....in theory...possible to swap f20c into ke70 also...and i think the engine bay would be a perfect fit...(unlike 4age in ke70 got many extra space left in the engine bay)

another alternative that i could think of was to use 1.8liter 2zz vvti (celica/mrs) engine....and order custom bellhousing (to match with the engine) to use old gb/any gb u want from your aussie fren.... :adore:

No, you can;t use the first engine swap as the stepping stone to further upgrade the capacity of your next swap.

Every swap is referred back to the original capacity of your car. Example, you can't upgrade from 1.3 to 1.6, then from 1.6 to 2.0 & so forth.

rusty....its not my meaning it was legal....

in logical thinking if levin can be fitted with f20c..then ke70 shud have the space to fit f20c also.....

on endorsement side thats why i'm suggesting 1.8vvti engine....

:adore:

thx pomen gtr..
ya i am more concern about endorsing cause i duwan i happily driving thn sddenly jpj block kete kena sita.. =)
so tats y i am trying to make it as legal as possible.
but as for 2zz i thnk is the same story i guess cause max a ke70 can install is 1.6cc if i am nt mistaken.
but is can a runner endorse 2.0 engine for me inside my car??
any1 has experience in this?
but according to a halfcut fella he tol the 25% restriction only applies to malaysian cars. is tat true?

3sge-gen4...is it come with A/T gearbox?
as far as i know, the gen differ between M/T and A/T..odd number for M/T, even number for A/T.

correct me if im wrong.

How bout this for a change?!

i've heard ppl transplant toyota unser 1.8 engine into ke70 being legal...so it must be possible to endorse..u just have to find the right runner that can help u in the proccess....

hey...
if i am nt mistaken 3sge 4th gen which is also known as BEAMS comes with manual 6speed or an auto.
so there are both version..
have a look at this.

The fourth generation 3S-GE, also known as the BEAMS 3S-GE began production in 1997. The first version was equipped with VVT-i and produced 197 hp (147 kW; 200 PS) at 7000 rpm when coupled to a manual transmission. The automatic version produced 187 hp (139 kW; 190 PS) at 7000 rpm, this is believed to be an ECU restriction implemented by Toyota due to gearbox limitations. It was available in a few models sold only in Japan - the MR2 G and G-Limited, the Celica ST202 SS-II and SS-III and the Caldina. These engines came with a red intake plenum and valve cover and as such are referred to as the "Red Top".

In 1998 a second version was released with dual VVT-i (variable timing on both the intake and exhaust cams). It came in two different spec levels dependent on what transmission it was coupled to. The 6 speed manual transmission version came with titanium valves, battery-backed injectors and a compression ratio of 11.5:1 It made 207 hp (154 kW; 210 PS) at 7600 rpm and 216 N·m (22 kg·m) at 6400 rpm. The 5 speed automatic transmission version had a slightly lower compression ratio of 11.1:1, less aggressive cam profile and steel alloy valves which made 197 hp (147 kW; 200 PS) at 7000 rpm and 159 lb·ft (216 N·m) at 4800 rpm. These engines came with a black valve cover and as such are referred to as the "Black Top". These engines were only found in the Altezza RS200.

The "Grey Top" BEAMS 3S-GE was an available engine option in the Rav4 and Caldina GT in Japan. Power output is 177 hp (132 kW; 179 PS) at 6600 rpm in the RAV4 and 187 hp (139 kW; 190 PS) in the Caldina GT. Even though the valve cover on this engine is black, it is referred to as "Grey Top" due to the grey intake plenum to differentiate it from the Dual-VVTi "Black Top" in the Altezza.

They all had a BEAMS badge attached on the valve cover, differentiating with red or grey emblem writing.

:adore:

tats a very good news to hear for me.
haha..
ya i thnk must find a good runner.
if i use without endorsing n jpj block i kena.
legally wats the procedure??
car kena tarik or saman??
any experience guys? =)

IMO, the best engine for KE70 while keeping it legal would be 4AGTE 16V or 4AGE 20V BT.
The 4AGTE is derived from 4AGZE, since 4AGZE can be easily converted from SC to turbo without changing any of the internals. I think instead of spending cash on runners and possibly involving bribery, its better to just stick with a 1.6 lump. With proper suspension tuning and LSD, a KE70 would be hell of a fun with any of those two engine swaps.

Plus, I think 3SGE Beams or even 2ZZGE cuts aren't cheap and more cost involved during the fitment and custom mounts. Besides, there aren't many specialist as compared to the 4AGE. Moreover, replacement parts for Beams and 2ZZ ain't cheap as well...be it new or used.

hey pcmoddingmy...
actually i am looking for a NA engine cause as i am still a student i do not want heavy maintainance.
according to many turbo engines have quite high maintainance compared to a NA one. Correct me if i am wrong.
but i saw some CA18det being endorsed on ke70s.
anyone has experience using tat engine or something.
