Hi,
I'm new to this forum. Got the latest Hyudnai Coupe with the following specs :
2.0Ltr Beta II engine with variable valve timing
4-speed auto transmission with shiftronic
10.1 compression ration
dynoed for 109hp at the wheel....that's stock standard engine.
This is what I've done so far to my car :
Broquet fuel catalyst (in-line & in-tank system)
K&N CAI
Iridium plugs
UNICHIP piggyback ECU..............dynoed and got 121hp at the wheel.
I'm seriously considering to go turbo. Visworks Auto Lab in JB suggested 0.6bar boost, with intercooler, auxhillary A/T cooler, extra injector & the rest of the turbo parts. PISTONS & A/T WILL BE KEPT STOCK STANDARD.That'll give 160hp at the wheel. Various hyundai websites I've checked with said my stock engine can stand up to 300hp without internal mods and A/T can stand up to 180hp at the wheel. I'm afraid of reliability problems. How my stock engine compression ratio of 10.1 be affected in terms of performance if I go turbo?Any possibility of pistons misfiring? I really need some good advice/suggestions. Don't want to turbo it then spend lots of $$ and time repairing & cursing at the mechanic. Thanks :(
