Experince with supersturt system

Well, finally convert it up to SS system. well the handling seems to be improved alot on straight. however, on bumpy road, the feedback was... abit over too much for me. whahahaha. can feel those rocky and uneven road surface.

the reason why i said "seems" to be due to my rear seems like having some problem. its way lower thn the front and keep on rubbing my wheelarch. my mech said maybe the spring doesnt match. i tot the normal seg spring and the SS spring was the same except the absorber?

oh yeah, anyone of u know whr to get twinpot brakd pad?

- I think you better change to Adjustable (Soft Hard or HL-SH), for better cornering.

the front ABS definitely not the same laa ... the spring mount for front looks the same but spring rates are different ... u can try get some McP springs (harder ones) to make the front lower ... but of coz have to do the rear oso laa to match the front .. hahaahahaha .. SS is good but things hard to find only laa ... and the sound that the SS makes is a killer ... handling pays itself off one way or another laaaa ...
good luck !!!

alrite. i've changed my rear spring back to my ex McP spring. damn... never thought how little thing on rear suspension affected so much in overall suspension. now it works great. those humpy bumpy knocking sound mostly gone. no doubt it will not be as silent and comfort as previous McP setup, but its good enaugh after all.

now my rear was 2 1/2 half finger gap while front was alsmot 4 fingers gap. on pyshical looks, its not obvious but im trying to look for some lowered spring for front. its running on RSR spring on front now. im thinking to put back the ex McP spring and see how does the result. hehehe

now im trying to make it as silent as possible. whahaha

Yo bro, I've heard ppl said change the bearings/bushes of the arms for ur SS mar... then will kill all the sound liao. but the prob is that it doesn't last for long in my local m'sia road lar!! hee...

i not sure. coz yesterday i do rode a ride with SS. im was super stun. no sound at all. very quiet. like new car. i also dunno what he do, now he is ficing nylon bush at my mech thr. i think after nylon bush, i wanna give it a try again

I think probably he's using poly bushing, never really heard of nylon bushing.

i think he's nylon bushing is for the bushing for his Anti-Roll Bar. Not his SS. I tried to look for poly bushing for SS. remember the Auzi brand "Pro-bush" or something like tat. no luck lei.
SS can be as quiet as new car one. but it requires very careful driver to take care of it in our m'sia road. I believe this guy's SS car you're saying, he hardly use his car much, rite?
I've also heard someone who tried to CnC all the arms again.
what you guys thinking??

the bush for ARB has nothing to do with quietness .. unless your current rubber bush kindem the ARB should remain silent ..
the "sounds" u are hearing are probably the lower arms of the SS .. each side consist of 2 pcs .. when sound starts u need to check which of the 2 pcs or both of the 2 pcs needs to be changed liauuu ..

the OZ bushes are called POWER PRO .. u can get them at HOKOMOTO at batu caves .. the ones for the ARBs are not very expensive ..

Alan tai ko, it's SuperPro la... PowerPro macam from brother's only :p Especially if you mentioned hokomoto at batu caves. I used to have my whole Wira's bushings changed to those, good stuff

QiW -
When u said change, do u mean change the 2 arms totally or just change the bushing? Coz, even the arms also hard to find lei. even if found, also old one, later, not long, gone case again.

Hokomoto there got SuperPro for SS mer?

superPRO bushes ... not the lower arms laa .. those arms u will have to go find kedai potong and find lorr .. or if u want new ones go UMW ask them order for u lorr .. hehehehe ...

those arms got bushes one maa .. those bushes wear out means bunyi liauu lorr .. u cannot change the bushes inside those arms unless u got specialised machines .. AFAIK there is somebody who refurbish these arms with new bushes ... i tried them long time ago and oso recently ... the 1st time very good .. lasted me about 2 years (hard driving thru bad terrains) .. 2nd time no good .. less than 1 week bunyi liauuu .. so returned them (1 month warranty)
if u get new ones from UMW oso no guarantee no sound .. hehehehe ..

yeah, that guy was changing his ARB to nylon bush. as for how often he use the car, im not very sure. but damn... im really so impress with his "silent". mine one started to have sound already. got some small "klock klock" sound liao. sounds like something loose.

Normality78 -
your "klock klock" sound is when u go thru bad terrant or when u do turnings? if it's go thru bad terrant then got this sound, then when u go on nice highway roads (especially s'pore roads), got sound also or not?

QiW -
Bro, wat is this AFAIK u talking abt? n also what is UMW? sorry, not good wiv short forms! hee.... pai seh! then hav u tried superPros for SS?

my experience with the SS is HEADACHE .
the lower arm always loose at the front and
jammed in the middle one.

2nd hand lower arms last around 3-6months.
brand new used for 2 years still fine.
haha. after 2 years of SS, switch to macpherson.

i guess u can order the brand new lower arm at
singapore, should be cheaper. i ordered from
UMW is RM8++ at the first time. then UWM do not
wish to order for me anymore, seek help from
wing hin, RM1k+, tax and freight(excluded)on ur own lagi.

nomality78 -
Let me guess... it shld sound more like "Rattle" sound rather than "klock klock" rite? dunno, to me "klock klock" sound more like driveshaft's sound which is the sound i'm having in my car rite now! hahahaha.....

artnet -
you mean we can actually order new arms?? i tot it's out of production? Hmm... any idea where in s'pore can find this ppl to order? hee...

all that i can say is its sound like something is loose. whahahaha. like those typical sound whn absorber kong those klock klock sound?
